Weldex 35W Heavy Duty Amber LED Beacon | Black Base

The Weldex WDBL-90R35W-BK 35W amber LED beacon is a heavy duty, permanently mounted 360-degree warning beacon built for mining, civil and industrial vehicles and plant. The cap and the thick base are both cast metal, finished in black. It stands 132.8mm high with a 130mm diameter lens on a three-lobe base measuring 175mm across.

Rotating is the default pattern, so the beacon can be fitted straight out of the box. Four flash sequences can also be selected using the mode wire, five patterns in total. Light output comes from circular LED discs behind an impact-resistant polycarbonate amber lens. It is rated at a maximum of 35W, draws between 0.4A and 2.9A at 12V DC according to Weldex, and operates on 10-36V DC, suiting 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems.

The heavy-duty cast alloy base and cap have a multi-stage paint coating for UV and corrosion protection. The unit is fully sealed and pre-wired to IP69K, the lens is part of the sealed unit and is not replaceable, and it is rated for -40°C to +60°C.

The beacon surface mounts on the vehicle or a bracket. The base has three 6mm through holes on a 150mm pitch circle, plus tapped M4 screw holes on 107mm and 130mm pitch circles, all spaced at 120 degrees. Rubber gaskets are fitted, and the hardware for both hole types is supplied: three M5 x 20 sems bolts with 20mm M5 washers and nylon nuts for the 6mm holes, and three M4 x 13 sems bolts with 15.5mm M4 washers for the tapped M4 holes. For mounting clear of a rack upright or roof bar, it suits the UAGS 175mm Offset Beacon Mounting Bracket. Weldex recommends mounting the beacon at the highest point of the vehicle and keeping it vertical to the road surface.

The beacon has a 600mm 3-core lead: blue (DC input), brown (ground) and green/yellow (mode), with female spade connectors fitted to the blue and brown wires and a bare end on the mode wire. The beacon's negative is not isolated from its metal base, so once bolted to a vehicle or frame it earths through the mounting. Where the beacon is controlled by negative switching, such as some arrow board controllers, Weldex suggests using a relay to switch the positive supply instead. Weldex product data lists ECE R65, ECE R10, CISPR 25 Class 5 and SAE J845. These relate to light output and electrical performance as per the supplied product data.

Vehicle lighting requirements may vary by vehicle type, registration category, jurisdiction and intended use. Vehicle warning systems support visibility but do not replace a traffic management plan or traffic guidance scheme.

Manufacturer Warranty - 3 Years
This product is covered by the manufacturer's warranty of 3 years against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, in accordance with Weldex's standard warranty terms.

This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, accidental or impact damage, water ingress caused by damaged seals not reported at delivery, opening the sealed unit, incorrect or unauthorised installation, unauthorised modification, or use outside the product's stated voltage and operating conditions. Installation should be carried out by a qualified auto electrician; damage caused by DIY wiring is not covered.
