Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping & Delivery

How long does delivery take?

Stocked items are dispatched within 1 to 3 business days. As a guide, Melbourne metro and nearby areas take 1 to 3 business days after dispatch, major metro areas 3 to 7, and regional or remote areas 5 to 14. Bulky or palletised freight timeframes are confirmed when the freight is booked. Express options are available on many items at checkout.

Is there a cutoff time for same-day dispatch?

For stocked items, orders placed before 1pm are usually processed the same business day for TNT freight, and before 3pm for Australia Post parcels. Large, bulky or custom orders can take longer to pack and book.

Which freight companies do you use?

Most bulky items and business orders ship with TNT, and smaller parcels ship with Australia Post. For regional or difficult deliveries we book additional carriers through our freight broker. Tracking details are emailed once your order is dispatched.

How is freight calculated on bulky or bulk orders?

Shipping is calculated at checkout for most items. Bulky, oversized or palletised freight sometimes needs a manual quote, and we will contact you before dispatch if extra charges or special delivery requirements apply. For large orders it is usually cheaper to request a quote first so we can book the best freight rate.

Can I pick up my order?

Yes. Pickup is available from Gate 2, 7 Royan Place, Bayswater North VIC 3153, Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 4pm. Select pickup at checkout, wait for our confirmation that the order is ready, and bring your order confirmation when you collect. If you need a time outside pickup hours, call us and we can arrange it by appointment.

Do you deliver to worksites?

We deliver to business, residential and worksite addresses across Australia. Freight drivers deliver to the nominated address and continue their run; they do not usually phone site contacts on arrival, so make sure someone is available to receive the goods and there is safe access for the truck. Palletised freight may need forklift access or suitable unloading equipment.

Do you ship Australia-wide?

Yes. Melbourne and nearby states are often overnight on TNT express services, and Express Post is available for smaller items. More distant destinations take longer on standard services, for example Tasmania at around 6 business days, with the Northern Territory and remote areas similar or longer.

What happens if my order arrives damaged?

Inspect your delivery as soon as it arrives. If you can see damage at delivery, point it out to the driver and ask for it to be noted on the delivery record. Then email sales@uags.com.au with your order number and photos of the product and packaging before the item is moved, used or thrown out, and we will arrange a repair, replacement or refund in line with our Returns Policy and Australian Consumer Law.

Quotes & Bulk Orders

How do I request a quote?

Email sales@uags.com.au, call (03) 8750 0926 or use the contact form on the website. Tell us the products, quantities, delivery location and any timing, and we will come back with pricing including freight.

Can I send you a full equipment list or project signage list?

Yes, that is how many of our trade customers buy. Send through your equipment list, project signage list or TGS sign schedule and we will price the lot as a single quote, freight included.

Do you offer quantity price breaks?

Yes. Quantity pricing applies on many lines and bulk orders are quoted case by case. Send us your quantities and we will give you our best pricing.

Why are some products sold in packs?

Some items are sold in pack quantities, for example our 5-packs of 450mm and 700mm traffic cones or packs of MIDI fuses, and the pack size is shown on the listing. Buying full packs usually gets the better rate.

How do I check stock and lead times?

Availability is shown on each listing, but for large quantities it is worth confirming with us before ordering. If a line is out of stock, restocking imported products can take several weeks, and we will confirm the lead time before you commit.

Do you provide pro forma invoices?

Yes. If you want to pay before dispatch on a quoted order, we can issue a pro forma invoice.

Trade Accounts

Who can open a UAGS trade account?

Any business with an ABN working in traffic management, civil construction, utilities, councils, fleet or related industries.

How do I apply?

Apply through our trade account registration form, or contact us with your business details and ABN at sales@uags.com.au. We will confirm your account and trade pricing once your application is reviewed, and 30-day credit terms are available on application.

What are the payment terms?

Approved credit accounts are 30 days from invoice. Until credit terms are approved, trade accounts operate on a pay-on-order basis.

How does trade pricing work?

Trade customers buy from our trade price lists, shown ex GST with GST added at checkout, in line with standard business-to-business pricing. Trade pricing is applied once your account is set up.

Do TMAA members get special pricing?

Yes. UAGS is a supplier member of the Traffic Management Association of Australia, and TMAA members receive better rates. Provide a copy of your current TMAA membership with your trade account application or quote request so we can validate it.

Can I buy without a trade account?

Yes, anyone can buy through the website at the listed prices. A trade account is only needed for trade pricing and credit terms.

What payment methods do you accept?

Card, PayPal, EFT and Afterpay at checkout. Trade customers on approved terms can order against their 30-day account.

Traffic Sign Panels

What is a Multi Message Sign?

A Multi Message Sign (MMS) is a corflute sign panel that slots into a compatible steel frame, so one frame can display interchangeable messages. We stock the corflute panels plus the frames and frame legs to suit.

What sizes do corflute panels come in?

The two most common sizes are 600x600mm and 1200x300mm, and we also hold a select range in 300x600mm, 1200x600mm and 600x900mm. The exact size of every panel is shown in the listing, and if you need a size or message you cannot see on the site, ask us.

What do the sign codes on each listing mean?

The code shown on each listing, such as TM2-4A, identifies that standard message design, so you can match panels against your sign schedule or project paperwork. The code appears on the listing rather than being printed on the panel itself.

Will your panels fit my existing frames?

Our corflute panels are made to suit standard Multi Message Sign frames, including the MMS frames we sell. If you are matching panels to another frame, send us the frame details and we will confirm fit before you order.

Can you supply custom wording on corflute panels?

Yes, we supply custom printed corflute panels with your wording. We can also print your company logo on the rear of the panels; a minimum order quantity and cost apply, and lead times are longer because the whole sign is printed along with the logo. Custom printed signs are made to order and cannot be returned for change of mind, so double-check wording before confirming.

Corflute panels or boxed-edge metal signs: which do I need?

Corflute panels are the interchangeable inserts used with MMS frames and suit temporary works. Boxed-edge metal signs are rigid, longer-life signs for repeated or extended use. We can quote and supply boxed-edge signage, and in fact any signage you require, so tell us how the sign will be used and we will point you to the right option.

What reflective options are available?

The reflective sheeting used on each panel meets the appropriate standard for that sign type. If you need a different reflective option, contact us before ordering.

Product Help

What is the difference between Heavy Duty and Contractor Series bollards?

The Heavy Duty Series (HD) is our premium commercial-grade range, and the Contractor Series (CS) is the economical option for everyday site use. Both are listed with full specifications so you can compare weights and dimensions.

What cone bar options do you carry?

Red and white, and black and yellow, available as singles or 20-packs. Pack pricing works out cheaper if you are outfitting a crew.

How are Stop/Slow bats sized?

Our Stop/Slow bats are built so the sign face sits 1800mm above ground level in use, and the telescopic option collapses to just under 1500mm for transport. We stock the most commonly used sign face size; some states use a 600mm diameter face, and we can supply the 600mm face if required. Exact dimensions are on each listing.

Where do I find product manuals?

Manuals for arrow boards and warning lights are available, and some listings include them as downloads. Email us the model and we will send the manual.

Can you help me choose equipment for a new crew or vehicle?

Yes. Tell us the work you do and the vehicles you run, and we will put together a recommended equipment list and quote. We do this every week, from single utes and bollard trucks through to full fleets.

What warranty do UAGS warning lights carry?

UAGS-branded warning lights carry a 3-year UAGS warranty. Third-party branded products carry the manufacturer’s confirmed warranty term, shown on the listing.

Vehicle Fit-outs

How does a fit-out quote work?

Every fit-out is quoted per vehicle. Tell us the vehicle make and model, tray type and the equipment you need, and we will quote the cage, equipment and installation as one package.

What is included in a base fit-out package?

A base fit-out package includes the racking cage, arrow board, beacons, sign frames and legs, Stop/Slow bat, cones and fitting. The package can be customised to suit your work, and your quote lists exactly what is included; anything not listed is an optional extra.

Is corflute signage included in a fit-out?

No. Corflute signage is quoted separately as an optional extra, because wording, sizes and quantities depend on your jobs. Ask us to add a sign pack to your fit-out quote.

How long does a fit-out take?

We generally hold our most popular cage (Design 7) in stock. Once the cage is built, a standard fit-out takes about a day, and we can fully stock the vehicle with equipment before handover so it leaves job-ready.

Are the racking cages your own design?

Yes. The cages are UAGS designs, fabricated in steel and covered by our 2-year fabricated steel warranty.

Can you install equipment I supply?

In many cases, yes. Tell us what you want fitted and we will confirm what we can install when we quote.

Warranty & Returns

What warranty applies to my product?

Warranty depends on the product type. Corflute and boxed-edge metal traffic signs carry a 1-year warranty, UAGS fabricated steel (cages, brackets, legs and stands) 2 years, UAGS-imported traffic control equipment 1 year, and UAGS-branded warning lights 3 years. Third-party brands carry the manufacturer’s confirmed term, shown on each listing.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. This warranty is provided in addition to these rights and does not limit or exclude them.

How do I make a warranty claim?

Email sales@uags.com.au or call (03) 8750 0926 with your order reference, a description of the issue and photos of the product. Claims are assessed on inspection, and where a defect is confirmed we will repair, replace or refund.

Can I return an item if I ordered the wrong thing?

Contact us within 30 days of delivery before sending anything back. Change-of-mind returns are not automatic, but we can approve returns on standard stocked items that are unused, complete and in resaleable condition. There is no restocking fee; you cover the return freight. Custom printed, made-to-order and special-order items cannot be returned for change of mind.

What if I receive the wrong item or a damaged item?

That is on us to fix. Email your order number and photos of the item and packaging as soon as it arrives, and we will put it right with a replacement, repair or refund under our Returns Policy and Australian Consumer Law.

Who pays return freight?

For approved change-of-mind returns, the buyer pays return freight. For faulty, damaged or incorrectly supplied items, return freight is handled by UAGS in line with Australian Consumer Law. Bulky items need written return instructions from us before they are sent back.
