Victron BatteryProtect 65A Low Voltage Disconnect

The Victron BatteryProtect 65A is a low voltage load disconnect that protects a battery from over-discharge by automatically disconnecting non-essential loads before the battery is drained too far to start the engine or before the battery itself is damaged.

It auto-detects 12V or 24V systems and can be set to disconnect and reconnect at several different voltage thresholds, with the current setting shown on its seven-segment display. A dedicated Li-ion mode allows it to be controlled by a VE.Bus BMS, or used as a charge interrupter between a charger and a lithium battery.

Switching is handled by MOSFETs rather than a relay, so there's no sparking at the contacts. An alarm output activates if voltage drops below the disconnect threshold for more than 12 seconds (so engine starting doesn't trigger a false alarm), and the load is only disconnected 90 seconds after that, with a 30 second delay before reconnecting once voltage recovers.

Suits auxiliary battery circuits in 4WDs, camper trailers, work utes and traffic control vehicle fitouts where a second battery needs protecting from over-discharge, alongside a DC-DC charger, battery tray and appropriate circuit protection.

Installation should be carried out by a suitably competent person or auto electrician.

This product is covered by the manufacturer's warranty of 5 years against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use, in accordance with Victron Energy's standard warranty terms.

Vehicle electrical components must be installed correctly as part of a suitable electrical system. This warranty does not cover damage from incorrect installation, incorrect wiring, overloading beyond the rated current, modification or use outside the product's stated operating conditions. Installation should be carried out by a qualified auto electrician.
