Stepmate Towbar Step

Stepmate is an Australian-made towbar step that fits between your tow ball and tow bar tongue. It gives you a solid step at the rear of the vehicle for loading the roof, washing the vehicle or reaching into the back. It stays fitted when you tow, so there is no need to take it off before hitching up a trailer.

It is made from 4mm steel plate, zinc nickel coated and finished in a textured powder coat, in black or safety yellow. The safety yellow suits fleets with OH&S colour requirements. The manufacturer rates it to 120kg per side (240kg total).

Fitting uses your existing tow ball, with no drilling. Remove the tow ball, sit Stepmate over the tongue, refit the tow ball, then wind in the two locking bolts until they bear on the sides of the tongue and lock them off with the nuts. It suits tongues from 60mm to 84mm wide.

Tongue shapes and tow ball setups vary between makes and model years, so check yours against the specifications before ordering. The tow ball is not included, as Stepmate fits under your existing one.

Stepmate Manufacturer Warranty: 12 Months
Stepmate is covered by the manufacturer's 12-month warranty.

This warranty does not cover wear to the powder coat finish from normal use, damage from impact (including contact with a trailer while reversing), loads above the manufacturer's rating, incorrect installation or loose fittings, or modification.

Claims are subject to inspection and assessment with the manufacturer. Where a defect is confirmed, the product will be repaired, replaced or refunded. Return shipping costs are handled in accordance with the UAGS Returns Policy unless otherwise required under Australian Consumer Law.

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. This warranty is provided in addition to these rights and does not limit or exclude them.
