The beacon's negative is not isolated from its metal base, so once bolted to a vehicle or frame it earths through the mounting. Where the beacon is controlled by negative switching, such as some arrow board controllers, Weldex suggests using a relay to switch the positive supply instead. Installation should be carried out by a qualified auto electrician.
